Terry Moore is delighted to report that after strong lobbying by him and other Solicitors throughout the country, the Government has scrapped its intention to substantially increase High Court Probate Fees, the highest value attracting a fee of £6,000.00 instead of the previous maximum fee of £215.00.
The Justice Secretary has, this month, announced that he has listened vary carefully to the strong views expressed by Practitioners and will withdraw these proposals.
It is the intention of the Government to take a closer look at the existing Court fees as part of their annual wider review to make sure that all fees are “fair and proportionate”.
This is very welcome news for all clients of Burstalls.
